It would be our pleasure to have you, your entire family, and your group for
a visit at our museum in Bremerton. It is, truly, a special place and we're
proud of it. You'll enjoy our exhibits in the area. There are new
hotels and a variety of sights, attractions, and eating places very close
by, as well as other significant historical locations. The museum is located
within Bremerton's renowned Art District. The museum is one of the most innovative and complete of its
kind in the Pacific Northwest. It includes a simulated "Main Street" arcade --
complete with various businesses, a school, and a fire department -- as well as
complete depictions of Native American life, the lumber industry, shipbuilding,
and several specialized collections.
These exhibits, combined with our research facilities and
archives, make this a must stop for history buffs!
On-Line
Preview!!
A virtual tour of portions of the museum is available by clicking the clock
photo at the left. The tour is part of a service provided by Kitsap.biz
and was done some time ago. When you are tranferred to the Kitsap.biz site, the
virtual tour of the museum can be launched by clicking on Museum Main Floor 1 or
Main Floor 2. The clock exhibits are no longer on display at the museum. This semi-animated panoramic view of several
sections of the facility is already outdated (we're building new exhibits all
the time!) but it gives you an idea of what we have to offer and the direction
we're going. Be patient; this is a complex -- but really neat! -- program
and sometimes takes a few minutes to download onto your computer. You will need
ActiveX or Quicktime to view, both easily downloaded and available when the
video screen appears. Of course, there's nothing like seeing the real thing, so visit us
in person if you can. (Photo by Eric Dahlberg.)
